I post this with no comment

Other than to say I'm still here, anyway. Have fun.

Kid Koala

I like making mixtapes. It's an interesting process to say something for myself using someone else's art. I also love listening to vinyl. I think it follows, then, that I'd have at least a passing interest in Turntablism. And it is at least passing. I don't really care. There was an incredible song I heard once in high school, and there's Kid Koala. Other than that song and that artist, turntablism could just die as a genre, and I wouldn't notice.

For Whenever a Borescent Scoromotion is Required

Can someone tell me what is happening? I mean, I know it's about Turbo-Encabulators, and the problems that arise from Unilateral Phase Detractors, but I mean, overall, I can solve Sinusoidal Depleneration myself. I guess what I need to know is how this applies in a post DRV-2 world. Thanks.

It's been a while since I've made my presence here known. So, here goes:

Ice Capades. Based on Super Mario Brothers. (Although, due to the deeply creepy look in Luigi's eyes, along with the overwhelming ease with which they off their enemies, I think I'm rooting for Bowser, who actually takes time to put in a decent performance.)

Also, it stars both Jason Bateman and Alyssa Milano, though neither really seems to be quite feeling their parts.

Guys...

Absolutely fantastic, is what this is.

Valentine's Gift Ideas, Vol. 3: Stretching the Theme

UPDATE: Apparently, the BBC has taken down the clip I posted. So, I've replaced the old YouTube link with a new one.

Okay, so strictly speaking, this is not a gift idea. But my girlfriend is from Alabama. So, um, do something for your teddy bear holding a heart that shows your appreciation for their heritage. For instance, if your valentine is an eagle, write a pretty song for them. If, like Elizabeth, they're from Alabama, paint "NASCAR Sucks" on your car and drive across Alabama. Like this:

p.s. I love it when people over-reinforce stereotypes. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go shoot some hoops in the barn and then make sure the corn is ready for plantin'.

No, I love you more.

Valentine's Gift Ideas: Vol. 1

While a teddy bear holding a heart was high on the list of things to get Elizabeth, we're running short on time, and well, I just don't know where I'm going to find a teddy bear holding a heart this time of year.

So, another idea:

(sound is key to this)

Eagles: FUCK YEAH

The following six-minute YouTube video is the very reason you should donate to your local PBS station: when producing a feel-good segment on watching Bald Eagles, should the wind make the audio unusable, they may sit down with a keyboard, and almost obliterate the entire Team America soundtrack.

Best part: "Eagles are awesome, so get rid of that frown/ this one had a nightmare, but they're calming him down,/ mostly."

I Heart Christopher Walken

He's the #1 Quatch, after all. King of Quatchly (not to be confused with Qwatchly) behavior. And so light on his feet...

one of my personal favorites. outside the continental, of course, but that doesn't show off his dancing prowess nearly as effectively. and while i'm at it, here's another video i've come across that i rather like. nothing to do with walken, but nevertheless...

also- anyone up for getting some A.S.S. this month? has it really been since new years? well, time flies when you're busy and stressed out. i'd propose that we relieve some stress at some point by meeting up for drinks, say, at motini's, or some other non-sleezy bar. what thinkest thou?

offering to the Gods of A.S.S.

Not including Anne, the Nordic God(dess) of RAWK. Or, okay, yes, including her.

But also including her Nemesis (or is it predestined divine life partner?), the Native American god of dance, Christopher Walken.

And yes, I rue the day I gave Abby administration rights. Rue, I say!!

THIS brought Boston to a halt.

These guys have been arrested. Homeland Security can immediately arrest Adult Swim fans, but can't provide clean water to a city in a real emergency. Grand.

Also Swoon-Worthy:

John Hodgman, professional writer, in: The Areas of My Expertise.

That is all.

More Swooning, and this time for the Other Half

Yes, the Pipettes look a bit like Lisa Loeb exploded into three British women. Perhaps this is the origin of my attraction. (That was my first huge crush, by the way; Lisa Loeb, her glasses and her guitar. Her voice twisted up my fourth-grade insides like no other girl had before.)

Abby mentioned how swoon-worthy Luke Wilson is, and there are days I'd have to agree.

Therefore, I present the original Wes Anderson short film, Bottle Rocket. It was adapted into a full-length (and vastly improved, I believe, though Anderson had yet to develop the beautiful quirks and eccentricities/intricacies that make his last three movies (Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, for those NOT keeping count) so great and re-watchable.

Thus, swoon:

slammajamma!

this:

is cool.

Only, not so much for anyone who isn't insured. 'Cause I can tell you, that will just about wreck the next three years of their lives. Insurance: it's for the rad.

Also, I'm going to the Heorot tomorrow night, around nine. Anyone else is welcome. I'm meeting someone there, and I'm honestly a little terrified to show up by myself. That's the last time I ever agree to meet someone for a beer off the internet.

I'm giving Abby administrator privledges for the blog in case I don't come back.

Everybody cool looks like Levar Burton

But you don't have to take my word for it.
