Recipe for Surprisingly Kick A.S.S. Sangria:

well... up to this point, my efforts at sangria-making have been pretty trial and error. but this past weekends batch, surprisingly, turned out pretty freakin' awesome! so here's what i put in it, in the hopes that repeating it will have equally serendipitous results:

  1. chop up the following fruit and put in a pitcher of reasonable size: one small orange, one lime, one apple (i used braeburn, but anything on the sweet side should do), a good handful of strawberries.
  2. pour in about 3/4 of a bottle of yellowtail shiraz.
  3. pour in regular grape juice until pitcher is mostly full, but leave a few inches at the top.
  4. add a good splash of orange juice.
  5. fill the rest with white grape juice.
  6. store in the fridge over night to allow the flavors to really mix.
  7. serve very cold, in large glasses, and you'll be tipsy before you know it :)
